And I've been one of those in the past.  That's why I have a 50W
capable radio in the Jeep.  I'm running it on medium power now.
Every once in a while out in the boonies I still need the 50W, but
it's not very often.

So we build even smarter digipeaters than what we're describing now,
or else put some smarts in the trackers themselves so that the digi
can throttle them down, change their paths to the locally
recommended path, etc.

I for one won't accept that we can't build a better mousetrap:  We
just haven't thunk it up yet.  If the status quo starts looking
pretty good to me, it's time to find another hobby.  I ain't there
yet.
