I already said the three server core could not handle it today, but
had the capacity of the core kept up with the demand, this could
easily be handled.

There are three redundant servers in the core now, not one, and were
all the load handled at the core over the last few years there would
be more. If you insist on calling the core a single basket though,
the tier two design is still completely dependent on that one basket
(made more fragile by the very existence of tier 2 because there are
fewer core servers), but now one needs to load the eggs into a
smaller basket before you cook them. The more you handle eggs, the
more likely they will break.

Unfortunately, the number of people who will take a discussion about
the merits of two different design philosophies and turn it into a
personal attack keeps growing. <g>
