But adds maximum QRM to the channel.
Better to go just VIA GATE,WIDE2-1 since then every HF gate that
hears is will put it out to VHF where all VHF IGates will hear it.

No, never use WIDEn-N with GATE, except for GATE,WIDE2-1
so that you limit your QRM in all VHF networks to only the general
area of the local IGates.  It is not good practice on any band or
in any LAN to inject out-of-area packets more than one hop
into any network, because it leaves locals with no control over
the injection of what might be unwanted QRM.
