It is our only alternative to Balloons.  SInce all ballooons
we launch from Maryland go out to sea and end up in
the ocean anyway, we figured we would just start there
in the first place and make it last longer....

I just reduced the 60 mA of my GPS-18 to 40 mA
by clipping out the LED in the cigarette lighter plug.

Thats a power saving of 33% and is significant
in our ocean going APRS buoy we will be deploying
soon.  I was amazed. (now I hope that the LED
is not somehow otherwise involved in the circuit.
We'll see.
