Hi All,
   In fact I had a conversation that started via APRS Voice Alert last about 400 miles when i was traveling to Dayton Hamvention last year.

If that's the case as a mobile, you'll be out of range in a minute or
so..  Not a lot of time to have a chat.

Why do you assume that the two stations will be traveling in opposit 
directions?  That can/will happen but also two APRS equiped hams can be 
traveling the same direction but at different speeds .. in which case 
communication / conversation can last for many minutes.
