The first version of WinAPRS was called "MacAPRS for Windows" I think  
I kept a copy somewhere.

I've been running MacAPRS since the beginning of time, and it's  
always been a good client package. The carbon version rocks on newer  
equipment, the tiger maps are awesome (and free). If you are trying  
to configure the carbon version, you have to use the classic version  
to set your serial number for some reason.

I helped test Curt's xastir compiler so it would run on darwin, with  
X11. It runs very well, but takes an afternoon with Fink to get all  
the packages installed so it will configure properly, some have to be  
hand compiled from the command line.

For ease of use I would suggest MacAPRS. If you want all the bells  
and whistles, with a product that is updated daily, and are CLI savvy  
I would recommend you check out Xastir. I bounce back and forth, but  
mainly I use MacAPRS Carbon with OSX 10.4.2 on my powerbook. I  
connect to the local igate for my internet connection.
