Thanks all. I rather suspected that. Luckily, the owner of that can get his
hands on an old 1270. So at least now we've saved a bunch of time not
messing with the AEA one. I'm sure it can be used by somebody wanting to do
less critical PC-based stuff.

I'm definitely aware of the TNC-X, and one of these days I'm going to get
one for myself (not as a digi per-se, but just to play with on the home
station). Once we exhaust our supply of old TNC-2 clones, that'll be Plan C.
