You still need a card with DB-9s or cables and DB-9s out of that header to 
actually couple the thing to the end application.  That's all I was referring 
to.  We use the ARCOM director series devices for SCADA and telemetry 
applications.  There are several case choices there to get more physical DB-9 
ports.  The director series is a much more focused and dedicate application 
running a proprietary environment (ISaGRAF) though.
