I second this.. I have the DR135TP for the IGate and for APRS it does
the job fine and can even act as a standalone tracker without
additional hardware. It can't do KISS mode and it's not useful for
connected packet, but for a cheap radio for APRS it definitely does well.
I have the D700 in the truck. The D700's revision of the TASCO TNC
chip seems to be a little better (I think KISS actually works on it
properly), but it isn't useful for connected mode either.
I'd love to see a TNC that supports KISS as a replacement part for
the TNC that's in the DR-135. In the meantime though I can't
complain in the least, it's provided reliable service.
