The best way is to use a different login for each application.  There is
no AX.25 restriction on SSID's on APRS-IS so use whatever you want,
especially for "read-only" connections.  In essence, there already is a
RO flag: a non-verified login is considered read-only (but does allow
the station to send a posit and/or a weather packet).  Where some get
caught on this, however, is when a ham uses the same callsign-SSID for
an APRS client and a CWOP client.  While the CWOP client logs in
non-verified, the APRS client uses a verified login.  Therefore, the
server with the APRS client connection considers packets from the CWOP
client to be loops.  Again, this can be avoided by using different
logins.
