When you are commenting on a deficiency on "new aprs software" could you perhaps name the program? It might be helpful to someone trying to choose an APRS client to use.

Of course, those of us using UI-View32 know that it's close to being perfect! No need for me to list the superior message handling features (APRS bulletins, queries, selection of default path or last heard path, retry interval, number of times to try, retry on heard, expire time, bulletin intervals of 2, 10, and 20 minutes until deleted, announcement intervals of 2, 5, 10, 20, 30 and finally 60 minutes until deleted, automatic wrap at 67 characters for overly long messages or 45 characters for messages going to a D7, etc.) as others have already sent notes about it.
