9600 baud Super-Site for LA:

This is the next step beyond the New n-N Paradigm in an area
like LA which results in these benefits:

* All users continnue to operate normally on 1200 everywhere
* All investment is only made at one super-site which feeds
  everything everywhere at 9600 baud.
* No cooperation or coordination is needed between lower
tier digis (other than reducing QRM via the New n-N Paradigm)

Here is how to build the super-site:
* Install a BEAM and radio and a TNC pointed to each of the
surrounding lower level digis so that packets from each digi
even if they collide with any other digi, still are 10 dB stronger
so that it is heard reliably on *that* TNC.
* Using a multi-node process, combine the packets heard from up to
eight of these sources into a continuous 9600 baud full-time
feed on UHF. That feed contains over 400 wide users in real-time
  and collision free.

Operations at 1200 baud continue normally within the usual
ALOHA local limits via the lower digis. But if someone
has a PC and can handle a real-time feed of up to 400
stations, they can tune to UHF at 9600 baud and grab it all.

Note that the New n-N paradigm and reduction in the QRM
level on 144.39 must be done first throughout the area to
get the 1200 baud stuff under control in order to get maximum
utility from this super-LAN.

But at least this shows how an LA-wide 9600 baud system
can easily be set up, and the beauty of it is that all the
investment is at one site and rquires NO other cooperation
or coordination with the lower tier sites! Just do it.
