If this is in fact true, I'm surprised no one has complained to me that their
data is not showing up. I certainly heard within a few hours that the WL- data
was not showing on findU! So far I've grep-ed the internet stream for an hour,
which is why I delayed this part of my response, and have yet to see a single
non-AX-25 compliant packet.
As to my distain, I have a good reason for it, and I'm not the only one. No one
can say I'm not consistant, here is essentially the same argument made nearly 7
years ago (in response to a proposal to use SSID 16 and above on the internet):

>Yes, you created the APRS-IS 8 years ago with Dale (per your documents).

>wasn't stable server software with the capability to filter at the
>server, we would not be having this discussion".
I didn't say or even imply that it was only person responsible for allowing this
conversation to occur. Certainly APRS in general and the APRS IS in particular
would be worse off without the contributions of Dale, you, Roger, and many other
people. What I'm saying is that my design and actions have played a significant
role in preventing open hostility towards internet originated data on the APRS
networks. Even though neither myself nor anyone else has operational oversight,
I still consider it my responsibility to point out problems and do what I can
through public opinion to protect it from abuse, and allow it to continue to be
a place where careful expansion, like adding Telpac packets, can occur without
open hostility.
I made it very clear that I am willing to go with what users want on this. So
far two opinions other than out own have been expressed, both favor me. Are you
willing to go along with the users, or are you determined to do what you want,
regardless of the opinion of the APRS community?
