The STP will definitely help keep the RF out but a Cat5 UTP should work.  I 
am using a 7' Cat5 cable with a coupler for my D700 for several months now 
with no problems.  I've been meaning to rig up a 10 or 20 foot flat silver 
satin 8 conductor telephone cable just to see how that would perform but 
have not done it yet.
