The same thing happens in my pico tnc. I have to keep the power to it so
that it doesnt loose it's brain....

Thank you everyone for all the comments on the Alinco.
I will rewire the power so that the radio gets 12v all the time
and use the remote on/off feature of the radio to turn it on and off.
