You can do similar with SmartPalm (on a PalmOS PDA) plus an Alinco
mobile rig.  You don't get mapping that way though.  It's a
text-only application.  Good news is that it's free.

There was a TNC that fit in a Handspring Visor "springboard" slot.
I have one, but it is no longer produced.  One of my tasks at one
point was to integrate it into SmartPalm, but an unfortunate SAR
accident with my Visor made that unworkable.  It's since been
replaced with another Visor, but because those TNC's aren't made
anymore it wouldn't be worth my time to work on that support.  Too
bad, as it was a slick setup.
