While on the subject of WinLink....here is an example of what is out there,
in the disaster area and many of them are communicating.
There is an entire team of people in the US and around the world on standby
waiting to be of use on this network.
It's a good thing and right now one of the few in the affected area. It
works.

Mike,
Here is the latest from vessels believed to be in the vicinity of the
Tsunami in SE Asia.. I will send each message from those below as a
separate email since some of them are lengthy. Also, if you cannot get an
interpretation of those in foreign language, let me know. Some of these had
APRS, YotReps or ShipTrak position reports, but the messages themselves give
the location information. For those using WEB Browser Access, there will be
no messages, just the time a message was sent. To do this, they must be
using the Internet, and hopefully, safe ashore!
TJ2MO reported (foreign Language, message attached) at 12/28 10:25 UTC on 20

Our PMBOs will continue check messages carefully for any word from the
affected areas. In addition, as some of these Winlink users will most likely
be available for urgent mail. Let's qrx on that until we know who is alive
and well. Certainly, there will be many more of these as the days move
forward. Let's all push for the "OK" status.
Thanks,
Steve, k4cjx
