I'm working on adding a new feature to the OpenTracker that'll let you count
events on one of its input pins.  It'll probably have a couple of modes -
number of counts since reset, number of counts since last transmit, and
maybe counts per hour.  I'm looking for ideas on possible inputs.  Some
suggestions:

Lightning counter.  Simple two-transistor circuit to detect nearby strikes.

Geiger counter.  Already have one of these using a similar processor.

Traffic counter.  Could be used with an IR sensor for trail traffic
monitoring.

The counter input triggers on a falling edge and has an internal pull-up
resistor.  If anyone's got ideas for other uses, let me know and I'll do
what I can to make it useful for that application and maybe set up an
example.
