Sorry to start the argument.... I guess it's just my personal preference to
have the data band on band b (or the right) and my voice band on band a (or
the left)... I will learn to survive with data on the left and voice on the
right....or voice on both, depending on what mood im in. I've been using a
TM-v7A for a few years, so I'm used to being able to do V-V, V-U, U-V, or
U-U any time and in any configuration. I'm sure kenwood had a reason for
setting up the D700 this way, and since I bought it, I'll deal with this.

Hey, How about using the PM's that the radio have
available. Hit the PM button and then button labeled 1
through 5. Opens up many set-up options. VHF-VHF,
VHF-UHF, VHF(data)-VHF(voice). Works for me. That is
why I bought one.
